This truck-friendly burnout video comes to us from the Jay Videos YouTube channel and it features a first generation Chevy Colorado doing a lengthy burnout. This small truck has variation of an LS-based V8, so it sounds great, while destroying its tires with ease.V8 ColoradoThe first generation of the Chevrolet Colorado was offered from 2004 through 2012 and the vast majority of these small trucks were fitted with either a 4- or 5-cylinder inline engine. From 2004 to 2008, the most powerful engine that you could order in the Colorado was a 3.7-liter inline-five that delivered 242 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque, but in 2009, the first V was introduced. The LH8 was an LS-based, 5.3-liter V8 that offered 300 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, making the Chevy Colorado for more power, far more capable and far more fun to drive. There aren"t any details on the Colorado in the video above, but the title says that it is an LS swap vehicle. We don"t know whether they swapped in the LH8 to replace one of the smaller engines or if this is one of the spicier factory engines like the LS1 or LS2, but we know that it has more than enough torque to roast the rear tires. The video begins with the V8-powered Chevy Colorado rolling in and out of the throttle, slowly spinning the rear tires. Once the cameraman has moved past the truck, the driver really cranks into the throttle and the smoke show picks up.Around the 20-second mark, the driver finally lets the engine stretch its legs and the LS V8 spins the tires hard. Smoke begins to gather around the back of the vehicle, and as the wind kicks up, a huge trail of smoke comes off of the back of this small Chevy truck. For nearly 30 seconds, the Colorado smokes the tires under hard throttle, keeping the tires spinning and the smoke cloud growing as the driver races off into the distance.Join the LS1tech forums today!Tags: Burnout friday, Chevy, Colorado, LS swap, Video
