Well i need to do a few bits on the car.

Front and rear shocks starting to show rust.
Front wishbones signs of rust.
Rear trailing arm bushes need replacing.

The Koni shocks I have are great, but around £1000 to replace. Bilstein have a kit, 93-02 Bilstein HD Shock Package (Set of 4 | WS6store.com all 4 shocks for under $400, reviews looks good, and yeah you get for what you pay for. But I think these will be fine for how I use the car. How do others rate Bilstein? I may be able to get a set in my suitcase,

Koni adjustable all the way.
Tubular lower control arms and switch to tubular rear arms too with a set of relocation brackets.
Your rear suspension geometry Is screwed up right now because you are lowered.

I'll get them locally in the UK then when i return.

Just looked at the weather in Sioux Falls SD, its -14deg C over there. I best buy some winter gear I think.

I brought many things form WS6Store in the past. They have a range of tubular rear bits. What would you advise? Rear Control Arms | Suspension/Chassis | 98-02 Camaro/Firebird | WS6store.com

They also do front arms too, this could be a stretch- Front Control Arms | Suspension/Chassis | 98-02 Camaro/Firebird | WS6store.com

I had a tubular strut brace and even though its way away from the floor after a few years it got rust as the powder coat flaked off, this would be a concern for me with the tubular bits being low to the ground.

K-member is nice and if you have the £££ then do it.
Definitely the lower controls. Poly bushings are nice for handling but your ride quality will suffer as the front arms need to articulate.
For the rears, go tubular with poly bushings at the front end and roto-joints on the rear. Add a set of relocation brackets to get the arms pointing downwards (front to rear) to correct your geometry.
Personally I would forego the k-member in favour of koni shocks and a set of bigger sway bars with poly bushings on the chassis and the end-links, along with a set of springs that have less drop and better spring rates. If you want to get really serious swap those heavy wheels for a lighter set and reduce unsprung weight.

Yeah I'm sure you done a shopping list, its in a thread somewhere. There is soo much that can be done, and could end up spending some serious $$$'s. I need to try to do not so much now, with the ideas of changing more things later. Will be nice to get a garage too so will keep some funds back, it will be great to be able to have the car up in the air for many days while working on it without rushing anything.

The K-Member does look great, and is tempting especially as i want to take the sump off at some point, so if I dropping the front suspension then that an ideal time to stick in the k-member.

I think you mentioned Strano springs in the previous list I'm happy to not be so-low, so while changing shocks and ideal time to swap out springs.

Dan, I could do with one of these if you see one going cheap, although I doubt you will..sellers seem to have cottoned on to the fact that they are getting harder to find lol

Id that for the Firebird?

If its for the Grand-Prix then more chance of bits, see them quite often. The have a GM parts store there which will certainly do the modern stuff.

Yes, it is one of the front nosecone grilles for the Firebird. I am pretty sure it needs the left one but will need to check. I managed to get one already. Amazingly a guy in the UK was selling one on eBay a couple of years back. It looks virtually brand new!
Yeah, its seems logical that bits for the Grand Prix would be much easier to locate over there. That doesn't really need anything apart from a heater control knob that's fallen apart. Although I haven't investigated why the left rear leccy window isn't working yet.

Add koni adjustable and to save money I would pull the front upper and lower control arms, clean and paint with Por-15 after acid etching and add new ball joints and stock rubber bushings. If you prefer to spend ££ then get the lower control arms in your post.

Thanks Dave. They come out at about £92 Inc tax, ex shipping. Not too bad for a pair really when you see what some charge for just one. I know I have one already but it's probably better to buy them as a pair as there may be slight differences in the moulding and finish.

Perhaps you could get them shipped to Dan whilst he is over there?
Dan the parts mule!

I'm taking my larger case, and these look light, so have room.

Thanks Dan, that's kind of you :thumb:. I know you'd said before about bringing bits back, but having seen the suspension parts you'll be bringing back for yourself, I didn't like to ask about the grilles. Yes, they are quite light, but I want to be sure you have enough space for yourself. Maybe order your parts first and we can check you have space for the grilles after. I'll measure up and let you know how big they are.

Emailed BMR suspension towards the end of last week. Asked if they can shop the items to my hotel within 1 week, if they can't are they happy to ship to the I got no reply. Perhaps they on a Christmas break already.
