As most of you know I have had a bit of rear axle issues. Document in the blog:- http://www.solent-renegades.co.uk/entries/51-rumble-rear
It started as a rumble at the read, as the diff decided to loose a retainer clip, got munched up in the gears, so now need a new ring and pinion, and where there was soo much swaft in there, new diff, bearings etc... Not wanting to do the job myself again. I looked at either repairing the axle I have to upgrading to a super duper one. Which ended up with the discussion of 12bolt or S60, http://www.solent-renegades.co.uk/general-discussion/16579-s60-vs-12bolt.html even sonsidered shippinf in a complete axel from the states. around £3k for S60, or £1100 to repair what I have
Due to funds really I had to go the repair option. I contacted Hauser Racing to do this job. They can order in all the parts, just give them my old axle and it comes back complete.

So thats the summary of where I am.

The car has 3 channel ABS, meaning there is a speed sensor on the center of the axle, there is a reluctor wheel on the outer edge of the diff, this was soo badly damaged it couldn't go on the new diff. So Hauser has been on the search for a replacement for over a week, they just can't get hold of one, I've had a search too with no luck.

So the issue is, can I run the car without this sensor?. This sensor is used by the ABS system. This started the discussion in this thread:- http://www.solent-renegades.co.uk/g...you-done-your-vehicle-today-28.html#post46421, removal of ABS is probably the way to go.

I was toying with the idea of line lock some time ago. So with this kit resolving the issue of the lack or rear speed sensor, brakes still working well and line lock feature. All should be good to go :)

Now to get this done before wheels day. Hoping the axle will be back soon.

You can begin the conversion on the lines and fitting of the prop valve and LL without the axle.
If the kit arrives quickly you can get it done ASAP

I think the Axle will be ready before the ABS kit arrives, mind you the luck I have been having it may not.

The kit should be shipped out this evening. Its coming USPS. so regular mail could take over a week. I have the tracking number. :)

Uh oh - USPS turns into Parcelfarce this end :( :( :(

Yeah, I was hoping the first S wasn't in USPS. It could take some time.

did you know u can put the US tracking number in Parcelfarce's website which will give you the GB tracking number ;)

Yes, and if you track it to customs in the UK you can phone and pay instead of waiting for them to notify you. Takes several days out of the process.

Only once it's showing "a/w payment of charges" though. Don't wait for the Parcelforce notification letter to come through ;)

Tracking info not showing progress yet, going by the status, I'm not sure its even been picked up.

Pennsylvania, hmmm, now will it go to Maine or Nashville for its Atlantic crossing?
or maybe neither - USPS might use another route!!

I've obviously spent far too long watching my parts go from door to door over the years! :nerd:

Could also go via Chicago too :)

Still in PA

Arrived at USPS Origin Facility
WARRENDALE, PA 15086

Its gone 38 miles the wrong way. Perhaps its taking the route over China? lol, or perhaps on its way to Pittsburgh Airport, only 28 miles away by road.

Tracking is:- https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action?tLabels=LZ314629465US incase anyone else wanted to enjoy the fun tracking this. I was surprised how much tracking info there is on USPS. It used to be Picked up, at customs facility or delivered, were the only things I ever saw.
