From April, speeding fines will go up.
Driving at 101mph on the motorway or more than 50mph in a 30mph limit could cost 150% of your weekly wage.
Big Ouch!
I'm kind of in two minds. It's certainly not a victimless crime and it does need punishment but when you watch these cop programs on TV and see crimes that to me are far worse (drug dealing, rape, abh/gbh) and the offenders get away with it when the CPS don't bring it to court. It just seems as if it's more about the revenue than it is the crime.
Yeah I know what you mean watching them 'police camera action' programs, a banned driver taking police cars and trying to run over policemen gets a 10month suspended driving ban. eh! Should get many years in my book along with having to work in prison to pay for the damage on the cop car. More severe crimes and not charged more severe sentences.
No thanks!
Ban electric and hybrids, they are too quiet and loud pipes save lives.
Re-introduce the green cross code and teach people the pavements are for people and roads are for cars, and that when pedestrians enter the vehicles domain that the vehicles have the right of way.
Introduce numbers plates, registration and licensing for cyclists and enforce road laws for them too.
Double the speeding fines at schools and in roadworks when workers are present.
Ban commercial vehicles on the roads on Sundays (like Germany) and invest in the railways both for passengers and freight with a network of freight distribution hubs that would lower the number of HGV's on the road as Transit style vans could cope and would be better suited within the confines of towns whilst reducing the numbers of HGV's on the motorways too.
All of the above would create jobs, reduce emissions, reduce accidents involving pedestrians and raise revenue through speeding fines at places where it is justified.

they make the public suffer these but they don't as far as i know use them for public transport taxi's why don't they use eco fuel on the fire truck ambliance buses would save them money
you say about road work there is a double s bend road that they are replacing the water mains pipe creating long hold up because for some reason the have a man on a quod bike being a convoy for traffic both ways even thro there are traffic lights and they work .
accident they other week car went into side of building police not chargeing insurance of bussinesss paying for damage car a right off
agree lower speed around schools and town up the speed limit to 80 on motor ways
Not just mine daz mustangs have always been under powered for wot they are meant to be hence your supercharged fitment even new owners of the s550 are doing major engine mods to improve bhp. All fords have been the same for years they sell them under powered so the owner feels the need to spend more then ford/aftermarket is there to help remove as much cash as possible
His Ford showed up a Porche on the way to brooklands new year's day 2016.
Keith Ellis from the mustang club (former wheelers chairman) has joined us on here. So an extra one for the friendly mustang Chevy banter. Perhaps more will follow.
i am getting confused with some the comments on here. a lot of our cars will most likely see twice the motorway speed limit, even the fords. to me speeding on an empty motorway is harmless. but i would be well below 20 going passed a school when the kids are about. i think what we realy need is not speed limits just responsible driving.

Was chatting to some people int he states, they have 80mph limits over there. Would be nice to see that over here. Its not the speed that causes accidents on the motorway, its people weaving in and out of lanes, not leaving time for the manoeuvre.
I was on a call to our South Dakota, talking about the road going north from Sioux Falls to Bookings and mentioned it was 80mph. Looks like I-29.
Ah, found an article on it:- Speed limits on I-90, I-29 in South Dakota rise to 80 mph - Washington Time
Wonder if other Interstate roads will follow suit.
