This drag racing video features a Chevrolet Camaro SS Transformers Edition making a run down the quarter mile. It you recall this package from the previous generation Camaro, you likely recall that it was a fairly simple appearance package which was intended to present the look of Bumblebee in the modern Transformers movie series. On the outside, an Autobot logo appeared on the front fenders and on the wheel centers as well as the Transformers logo on the hood stripes. On the inside, the Autobots logo was embroidered on the center armrest and the Transformers logo appeared on the door sill plates none of which improved performance, but for someone who wanted the look of the movie car, this was a fun package for $995.On the other hand, the Transformers Edition Camaro from Janetty Racing has been modified to outrun anything that the Decepticons could muster up. The details are short, but in looking at the other videos of this car, we learned that under the hood is a 427 cubic inch LSX crate engine fitted with a Vortech V7 YSI supercharger. That monster motor sends its power through a Powerglide transmission to a Dana 60 rear differential and a set of monster drag slicks help to put all of that supercharged power to the ground. The result is that this Camaro leaves the line with the wheels in the air as it blasts down the track in under 9 seconds. To be exact, on this run, the Janetty Transformers Camaro lays down an awesome 8.91 at 154 miles per hour and while we don"t know for sure that this is the quickest and fastest Autobot in the world it is the quickest and fastest that we have seen.Tags: 5th Gen Camaro, camaro, Camaro SS, Drag Race, drag race monday, LSX, Transformers
