Rarer than hens teeth is this 1975 Pontiac.<br />
It started off as a mere Firebird, but has now been upgraded to Trans am standard.<br />
The normal run of the mill v8 has been replaced with an Oldsmobile rocket 88 engine and auto transmission making this a rubber burning fast machine.<br />
The interior is tatty with the seat middles and the bottom of the door panels needing replacement.<br />
Black interior carpet is new.<br />
My upholsterer is attending to this along with the centre armrest.<br />
Bodywork is pretty good, but not perfect and no rusty patches around the rear window mouldings. Just the odd blister here and there but quite acceptable for a car of 42 years!<br />
The exhaust pipes are straight out of Cherrybombs and poking out of the side in front of the rear wheels sounding like a spitfire flying overhead.<br />
This is being changed to exiting out of the rear through extra mufflers as it should be, and hopefully quieter so you can at least hear the radio along with a decent v8 burble.<br />
The rear of the trunk lid looks so bare without the Trans am tail fin, so one is on the way to be colour matched and fitted.<br />
Whoever thought it a good idea to fit LED lights for front and rear indicators is wrong and these are being changed back to standard! Sorry no power windows!<br />
Once all these niggling things are done, the only thing not making it a Trans am is the small flares on the arches.<br />
If the offer for this is good enough I will search and source these and also fit them in matching colour.<br />
I am asking a sensible price for this car when it is put back to looking like a classic American car from a wide boy botch up.<br />
MOT has 6 months to run and if a decent price is paid, I will welcome the buyer to bring it back on expiry and I will pay for a new one.<br />
The price is only a suggested one, so if you think I won"t take less then try me.<br />
Have a look at the pictures now and when all these bits are done including the daft writing on the rear lower panel is removed, I will take some more and you will then see how a 1975 Pontiac really should look.<br />
I will take any classic American as a part exchange or maybe a full exchange with a current MOT. Please no European or Jap c**p.<br />
