While most of us were being lazy over the bank holiday weekend, Top Gear"s favourite rallyist Kris Meeke was busy doing his day job skidding his Citroen C3 rally around Argentina while competing in the World Rally Championship. But it wasn"t his best weekend, as he crashed not once, but twice. In spectacular fashion to boot - with the car ending up crumpled and on its roof both times. Things started going badly on Friday, when Kris was forced to retire from the day having crashed out of Stage Four after hitting a bump in the middle of what Kris called "a nothing corner". That "nothing corner" sent him up in the air and into a bank which caused the car to topple over onto its roof at high speed. As you can see from this footage, the car took quite a battering, sustaining massive damage to the front, roof and rear of the car. Amazingly, Citroen"s crack team of mechanics managed to bring back the mangled C3 back from the dead in a three-hour intensive rebuild (shown in this incredible timelapse) that saw him back on the road on Saturday.
