Your car history

More than one other ex-veedubber on here too! My VWs were good solid cars, but the Golf GTI I had was a dull as ditchwater to drive considering it was supposedly a hot hatch. My Polo 1.0 litre with its 4-speed manual gearbox was more fun!

I have to agree, my GTI was very sluggish, I wouldn't say it was a fast car :( shame because it was solid and I really liked it, but I wanted a car with more oomph so I sold it after about 5 months?

performance wise it had a quickshift and larger wheels, stiffer springs and was bright orange with green and yellow stripe with TWR on the 1/4 panel at the end of the stripe

Interesting, thanks! Never come across one before. I wonder if there are any left?

The Mk3 was significantly heavier than the Mk2, so even more sluggish. Handling wasn't great either.
