New it was auto something was a longtime ago now. So many 1 hit or one series TV programs back in the day. What about sting Ray he had a black stingray it was the for runner to Knight rider.

There wasn’t a forerunner to Knight Rider. Plenty of clones since (and back then) but it was pioneering in many ways and Glen A. Larson was quite the visionary.
I don’t remember Stingray.
There was a TV series called Stingray, it was like Thunderbirds nothing like Knight Rider, perhaps you are thinking of something else?

But, whilst I don’t remember it, it started 4 years after Knight Rider so another copycat as opposed to a forerunner? From what I read before the writer had me suicide ready it sounded more like a one mans A-Team.
