If anyone interested. This was on another forum. I have no more info....

After 6pm to avoid Congestion Charge

And the route is.

Starting on Chelsea Bridge at the park entrance opposite the tea stall, go over Chelsea Bridge and keep going to Sloane Square then turn left to go along the famous Kings Road until you get to Beauford street where you will turn left at the lights, carry on up to Albert Bridge but don't go over it turn left and go along the embankment, keep going and turn left at Chelsea Bride, and do it all again or in reverse, or turn right at Chelsea Bridge all the way down to the rounabout and back up and do it all again.

This is still something I have never attended, although would like to.

I used to go back in the late '70's, when it was mostly American cars, rods, vans and what are now UK Classic cars and cb radios . Park up in the park for a show n tell, and then cruise the circuit, pretty much as per the map above, but then you used to be able to come back over Albert Bridge, till they put the width bollards in. The circuit used to be lined with people the entire route but especially the bridges for some reason.

If you were lucky, there'd be a call on the cb to go to watch the street drag racing up at Trinity Road. They'd park up in the layby by Wormwood Scrubs, pull out and go up to the traffic lights making sure arrived as they turned Red, wait and see what came up next to you and wait then floor it down to the 40mph sign on the short dual carriageway, then shutdown down and roll up and round the roundabout and then back up at the end of the queue and hope to do it again. If you were lucky you might get an hour or two till the old bill arrived and everyone disappeared.

But then with the arrival of hot hatches, it became a more modern car based meet, then they closed the park and for me it kind of lost all the character it had originally.

But if not been before, or went later, should be a good one seeing as its the 50th Anniversary.

Great Summer Night memories, but I haven't been for donkeys years.

That will show the government lol.🤣 Leave us alone
