Dear all
On behalf of Denmead Junior School we would like to ask if you can pass on our sincere thanks to all the car owners that came along to our show on 12th July. We once again were very fortunate with the weather and although we clashed with a very big day of world cup football, causing our numbers to dramatically reduce this year, we are very pleased to announce that after expenses have been removed we have raised ?3400 for the school which will be spent on enhancing the outdoor environment for the children with plans to build a raised pond and wildlife observation area.
Out thoughts are already turning towards the 2011 event and would be interested in feedback from the car clubs about suitable dates. We have held the event for the last few years on the 2nd Saturday around the 12th /13th/14th of June and it does not appear to clash with other car shows, however we are experiencing increasing difficulty in getting helpers and as we always clash with the Isle of Wight festival. We have been thinking of changing it to a slightly later date in June/July but as we have now established a fair sized show we would not wish to compromise this with an unsuitable date for the car clubs any feedback or details of other shows in June/July would be very helpful.
