Here is one of those "don"t try this at home" exhibitions of horsepower. Alongside a rough Fox Body Mustang, this fourth gen Camaro SS drifts around a parking lot. Naturally, there are a wall of people creating the outside perimeter and another group of people standing in the middle of the drifting circle. This video has the makings of a dramatic news video showing people being run over by an evil horsepower junkie. Fortunately, that Mustang didn’t claim any victims this time. Since nothing bad happens, this is just good, smoky fun with an LS1 Camaro.[Editors Note: That said, definitely don’t do hoodrat stuff when a bunch of people are around…err, at all, definitely don’t do this at all.]At first, the Camaro SS and the Mustang are both just spinning the tires doing their best impersonation of a couple of drift cars. In terms of judging the tire smoke, it’s okay at best. They are both creating a nice amount of smoke, but nothing exemplary. However, about 20 seconds into the video, the Camaro spins and stops, doing a gigantic burnout. While the driver feathers the throttle to keep the LS1 engine off of the rev limiter while keeping the rear tires smoking hard. Our brilliant spectators gather around the rear of the car to keep it pointed in one direction. At points, the Camaro appears to bump into the guy shooting this video. But for the better part of 40 seconds, the driver keeps the tires spinning with the car remaining mostly in place. After that, the driver of the Camaro drifts around with the Mustang a bit more before doing one more 20-second long burnout in place. Of course, the LS1 V8 sounds great during all of this burnout action so make sure that your videos are cranked up when enjoying this smoky burnout and drifting video staring a 4th gen Camaro SS.Tags: 4th gen Camaro, Burnout Fridays, camaro, Camaro SS, ls1
