The teams running the Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series have cars that look like the current 2016 Camaro across the front and out back, but when the NASCAR teams head to Daytona next February, the Chevrolet teams will be campaigning the 2017 Camaro SS race car shown here. This past weekend, this bright red Camaro SS racer was introduced to the crowd at Daytona International Speedway, offering fans and racers alike a chance to see what"s next for Chevrolet Racing."For the past 50 years, Camaro has played a key role in Chevrolet"s racing success in winning races and championships. We look forward to further success with the new Camaro SS in the NASCAR XFINITY Series," said Mark Kent, director, Chevrolet Racing. "Racing improves the breed and helps us design better cars for the showroom. That"s why Chevrolet is on the track week after week, year after year."The teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series have mostly been running cars that look like the 6th gen Camaro since the beginning of this season, but these cars are based on the previous Camaro NASCAR bodies while new sticker packages to the front and rear end give them a more modern look.On the other hand, the 2017 Camaro SS stock car has a new body which has been perfected in the wind tunnel and as a result, this new Camaro should be better than the cars currently in use. This new car will make its formal on-track debut at 2017 Speedweeks in Daytona, with the competitive debut being the Powershares QQQ 250 the undercard race for the 2017 Daytona 500.Tags: 2016 Camaro, 2017 camaro, 6th Gen Camaro, camaro, NASCAR
