S60 vs 12bolt

Certainly worth getting at the same time as the axle then. Wont add much weight, nor shipping costs, ofcourse import tax will go up.
I have poly anti roll bar mounts I've not put in yet, I see people upgrade the size of the roll bars, is that worth doing?

Oh definitely, I ran some seriously big bars compared to stock, but hollow to reduce unsprung weight, but you will need better springs than those eibachs.

When I get home I will send you a link where you can get better springs, bars and the watts linkage together.
You would not believe how well a live rear axle car can handle!

Sounds good to me. Will look forward to that.
I won't mind changing the Eibachs, they are a tad low. I mainly done it for looks, but every time i got to jack the car up, I keep thinking who's idea was it to lower it soo much.

Found it:

You have Koni's already, so no change there. This setup was enough to allow my old TA to keep up with a well driven VW Golf Mk5 on a twisty road, easily!

The only other thing I would address is the torque arm. You are lowered so you should have done tis anyway to correct the pinion angle. Without changing to an adjustable torque arm your pinion angle will be off by several degrees.

We must have that little video clip of when we fitted that watts link to your car somewhere. If we can find it we will send it over :)

I think the torque arm I specified just needs a tweak (angle grinder to the top mounting bracket!) to fit an s60, but worth checking before/if you order.

Still saving up for this, and still waiting for the cheque that will pay for most of it. :) Hopefully wont be too long, want to get the car back on the road and cruising again.

I may need a hand when the time comes. I'll buy you dinner, and hot drinks will be on flow all day.

Nom nom :) :)

Well the large cheque still hasn't arrived.
So I was going to swap out the gears for my old ones, just to get my car working for the start of the show season.
Extracted my pinion and found I can't reuse the bearings.

So I need to buy a set of bearings, well a pinion bearing is £5ish from rock auto. A complete set and seals and bearings is around £100.

So as i need to spend money to get it on the road, and dont know how long it will be before I can buy the S60. So today I'm now toying with the idea of changing the bearings and get some 3.73gears and pop in an Eaton Tru-Trac. So i will have a word with Hausser racing, as i can run up my old axle to them, and they may be able to get it all shimmed up with new parts and get me back on the road again.

Sounds like a plan if you don't know how long it will be until the big cheque arrives. Of course you can always sell your rebuilt back axle complete once you go down the s60 route.
Well done for working out in this cold. Too cold for me! We had snow flurries before the run this morning.

Yes good point about selling the complete rear end. That's a good idea.
I want to go for the beefy one, but just not got the funds. I wonder if there is a big call for rear end when I come to sell mine.

It was very cold out there, you cant bang the spanners with your hands like you can normally as it hurts, and when something slips and you bang yourself its painful. The intensive was that I was hoping to be hopping in the car that afternoon and driving. However didn't quite go to plan in the end.
