If you are not familiar with the "Beater Bomb Mustang," it is a 1993 Ford Mustang LX powered by a 5.3L GM LS engine. When it first came onto the scene, it ran smokin" fast times with the help of some nitrous. As time went on, the Beater Bomb added a big turbo setup in addition to a fancy exterior refresh, so it is no longer a beater. However, it is an even more impressive drag car packing gobs of GM power.Posted on YouTube by the URBAN HILLBILLY VIDEOS channel the Beater Bomb Mustang takes on a fourth gen Camaro. That F-Body also clearly has a big turbo setup, and while we don"t have any details we don"t need them to enjoy a good race. The video begins with each car doing a burnout on the unprepped airstrip. The Camaro goes first and puts on a pretty impressive smoke show. The Mustang follows or tries to and can"t get the tires to spin properly. After dancing around and getting the car stopped, the Mustang backs up for another try and he gets the tires to smoke a little. Must be tough having too much grip. The video jumps to the start where the Camaro and Mustang are lined up with anti-lag systems engaged and engines screaming. When the flagger drops his arms, both cars rip away from the line pretty evenly. As they head down track, we can see that both boosted muscle cars are struggling for traction. However, the Camaro is eventually able to inch ahead to get the win. While it is hard to see from the starting line angle, there is a second clip afterwards showing the race from the finish line with the Camaro taking the win by a fender.Tags: 4th gen Camaro, 5.3 turbo, camaro, ls1
