Wheels day 2014

This is terrible. We haven't been to many wheels day's, just two in fact, but in my mind there is just no excuse for what has happended following this years event.
The people (I refrained from calling them what I wanted too) who are guilty of the negativity should be ashamed of themselves. They have hurt the hobby and many benefitting charities through their need to express their displeasure - displeasure at what others have organised without reward for the enjoyment of others.
Today, I'm ashamed to be part of the American car scene.

Here here!!

Oh no :( so all the haters out there have destroyed it.
Cracking attendance though. Fingers crossed later in the year there will rethink the decision.

Yep - they killed it for sure.
I hope they are all proud of themselves!!

Unfortunately this event seems to be a victim of its own success. We left about 1ish having been there since 9ish and the queue of cars still coming in was relentless. I'm not surprised the marshalls etc were overwhelmed. I always assume people posting abuse etc have never been involved in organising anything ever as they obviously have no idea about the work that goes on to get these events up and running and without them we would all have no shows to attend.

Shame was my first wheels day and I thought it was very good :-(

It's such a shame that these idiots had to be so nasty! We got there early...no traffic...left later...no traffic. At the end of the day, you get thousands of CARS turning up to the same area at the same time there WILL be traffic!

I'm hoping that things will cool down, other clubs will offer their help (as some Renegades have) and have another successful year in 2015!

Could not agree more Sarah. (i) It was the 1st year at a new location, (ii) It was a record turnout, (iii) Marshalls being flustered at these kind of things is part and parcel, (iv) Waiting in the queue for an hour is hardly the end of the world. I sat in traffic for an hour on the 283 coming in at around 9am, but I expected it as I was running what I considered late. But the day was phenomenal and was worth the wait, even though I had an aching left knee by the time I got in lol... It's a charity event run by people who don't get paid and who mostly have day jobs and organise this in their spare time!! It's always the space wasters and big mouths who wouldn't do a thing to help out but seem to have the time to whinge and moan, and now they've spoilt it for everyone.

Dont know how legit this is, as its not from the Surrey Street rodder just someone's 'Wheels Day 2015 petition page on facebook', too many of them around no, why not just have one?? work together.
anyway. This is what was posted.
UPDATE:

Wheels day IS to continue!!

SSR over the coming few weeks will meet to discuss the changes that are to occur, look at what problems have arisen from this year and others and effectively create a 'new' wheels day.

Thank you for the support you have offered to SSR and please continue to do so.

We are exceptionally excited by this news and very proud to be able to share with all of you!!! Keep watching for more updates
