WOW an extra 5000 viewings(hits) on my thread since my last update(it's over 25 thousand now ) But no feed back come on guy's , girl's i have done no more to it for sometime now need some encouragement.
Thanks Dan,Sarah, (sod the rest of you lot that cant reply 4998 of you lol) smells better than it did with all the rotten head linner and door cards replaced and carpets cleaned runs Really well apart from WOT (wide open throttle) bit of a flat spot but high and low cruising speeds really smooth runs straight and true no pulling brake/ pulls up nice just a shame it looks so run down with it's bad paintwork. Still loads to do But at least it's now a rolling project .
Well after braking down with carburetor issues last friday decided to have a good a rebuilding it with a carb kit went better than expected and runs alot better
Well all those little back mark's on the table is the soot and old gasket that was inside carburettor . The float needle was rounded instead of having a point so replaced that as well very small metal clip on this was fun doing this wasn't looking farwd to this rebuild but thought sod it give it a go needs fine tuning now but runs so much better so might have saved me ordering a replacement.
Update from play time.Got the center console unit from the state's as mine was broken and missing cover lid and they told me cover lid now on back order as waiting on new tooling to be made so got the unit covered in left over door car material, also got passenger door seal (glass ) to put on and spare coil pick up and HEI unit also sprayed the rocker cover as didn't like the blue but not happy with red so will end up painting again but no sure what color,Even had to replace battery clamp as broke on me,

Well spotted yes it's a 403 old's. You would be good to have in a pub quiz with info like that :biggrin1:.. Must admit the red dosnt look right have changed the window seal and as can be seen no nasties found when i took the valve covers off result, took the old girl out for a run it dosn't like the wet roads no traction so was fun in places.
Drivable yes but not in heavy rain and slippery roads , just got to save for more parts and yes think i will respray the valve covers again , so what do the viewers think about putting in white reclining recaro seats??? as getting everything from USA is going to be expensive .
My view would be re-paint the valve covers blue - it looks like the whole engine is quite close to Pontiac Blue.
With regard to the seats, well you have rebuilt it with stock suspension and not gone down g-machine route so you don't need the support of aftermarket seats - I would go with stock items.
But hey, its your car and money - do what makes you happy as thats what counts at the end of the day.
You must of read my mind today as brought a can of blue paint ,
stock suspension was quick fix to get it moted as rears were shot . It's all down to money at the end of the day but it dose need to be stiffer as it dose roll and wollow but that's just american car's lol
was looking at these for the future upgrade when i start adding more power and better handerling More Information for MONROE 58551
