SsangYong has decided that it"s going to put the extra large Tivoli into production following positive reviews of its XLV Air concept in Frankfurt last year. The original Tivoli ended up on the World Car of the Year nominees for 2016, only falling short of the final ten in the last fortnight or so.Sharing the same wheelbase as its older (albeit littler) brother, the XLV has been lengthened by 235mm behind the rear pillar, increasing its overall capacity to 720 cubic litres. There will be options aplenty too with a choice between a 1.6-litre diesel or petrol engine, a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox and either two or four-wheel drive. Though if you live in the UK, that could change before it goes on sale. With such similar characteristics to the car that spawned it, SsangYong will be hoping that the XLV inherits its not-as-ugly-as-you-might-think abilities as well.
