Yes I think I was lucky ordering a starter motor Thursday lunch time and the part was in LA (furthest side of the States) came into Fareham depot Saturday morning, but they don't deliver Saturdays, so I popped down there to see if I could collect, and I could. I was very lucky with that order. Got it fitted ready for the Southampton Bargate car show.
There's no shows to prep for that's not so bad.....but I'll miss out on the 10 days retest so will more than likely have to pay full whack again....and have Simon come over twice on his weekends off to give us a hand.
Currently sat in the boot and removing everything to get the carpet pulled up ready for welding this weekend

Two bits of good news......all this tain we've had isn't all bad.....it's proved the sealant job Dan did on my windscreen has worked!! There is no signs of any water in the driver's footwell
Aaaaaand......... The important patlrt of my order from Rockauto has arrived!!!!! So I now have rear brake cylinders and shoes in hand, just the strings and levers to wait for (they've been with Yodel in London for four days)
Whoops!!! What a numpty! I will not be doing that again lol
So.....the rear fog light is now rewired and working. Dan drilled a hole in the bodywork, behind the rear light to feed the new wiring through and hey presto....one legal rear fog!!!
Fresh out of grommets, although did de-burr the hole. I wanted to pop in a grommet to make a good job of it . I do have a battery drill but in the loft where I have been doing some boards up there. I needed to get the extention lead out as mowed the lawn too.
The hole that was by my seater actually goes all the way to the front footwell. So I have no choice but to order a new floor pan for her
Photos.....
What it first looked like.....not too bad looking? Welder and steel all ready, then we started digging....

And this is what we found

So with us not being able to do much with the bodywork we turned to the brakes. And this is the state they were in......

Had everything for this but one hiccup has stopped us doing any more until next weekend. The levers inside the rear brakes are attached to each other with a rivet. We did not have a small enough rounded hammer to put these together. So.....Simon (who's helping us out) will be getting a bearing from his garage Monday so we can carry on next weekend.
So I guess the Camaro will be off the road for a little while longer. Quite gutted but want everything repaired on her properly, and seeing as I intend in keeping her for a long time I've got make sure it's all sorted properly
