Rusty bits look terrible , brakes look terrible ,
on a second note the top spring inside brakes looks to be bent over as if it's too long normally that spring is straight
Wow, I remember restoring my 2nd gen and it had areas like that. I guess I still think of 3rd gens as new but they have as much for the rust worm to chew on as the 2nd gens.
Really bad news Sarah, I'm glad you want to do the work and keep it, but consider your options too. You might better off long term replacing the car (maybe with a V8?).
Yeah that's gonna be the problem. Do you know anyone that can get it in a crate? There is a guy mentioned on other forums called Ron (I think!) company name is STS (again I think lol) that might be able to help.
I guess you could try the usual UK places (US automotive, Ultimate Spare) as they also might help.
Been told internal shipping in the states has gone crazy expensive, so with people with containers it's still going to be around ?500. So I think I'm going to have to get panels welding in as oppose to a proper floor pan. It'll be just as good but I'd rather do it properly. Although I'm not paying ?500 for a ?160 part!
So those web links i sent you did help with panels ??
what about getting a floor pan from a scrap motor theirs a few on ebay the scrap yard could plasma cut the part you want out for you might help you out???
I would prefer to keep mine. If I was to get hold of a donor car it wouldn't be for a while yet. I would love to stick a V8 in her.....but first would come paintwork and body work....and I really want an original stereo back in her.
