thank you. i think i now have the information, just need to wait for the switch, its with USPS. i am in no rush to get this done, been thinking about it for years and will likely wait till winter before stripping the doors. do i mod the mirrors i have or buy a new pair just in case it all goes pear shape

Pear shaped mirrors is a 'thing' So all is not lost if they go pear shaped.

wired up the "new" switch it worked but not well, so had to dismantle it and clean a lot of black stuff from there contacts, sorry no before picture.
i also changed the connector as it was easier than trying to find the other half of the ford one. however the one pictured is not very good so will not be used. i have found something i think will be better i will post a picture of it when it arrives

Keep up the good work as they say

The connectors look good. Thats should sort the problem.

Nothing on car builder. Com or 12 volt plant or car wiring products that do a suible wiring plug or nip to local car breakers and cut of a suible plug and socket and solder cables onto yours?????

i found them in the bay of fleece. saleen i will try you suggestions to find the connections that go in the mirror motors. i have terminals the fit the pins but i would prefer the positive lock of the OE plug
