Going to get the drive way widened.

Quite the carpenter......
Thanks. Nice to work with wood. Struggling to find a flat area to work with. Its getting there. Once the gate is done i can concentrate in getting the seats in the trans-am and repair the door(the outer skin is coming away) There is paint work needed on the hood as the lacquer has blistered and coming off, mainly due to stone chips letting water in under the lacquer. A complete hood respray needed.

Photos from the port Solent meet i popped along to earlier:-

Are you putting gates over the front of the driveway?

Not yet, but it is a later possibility. Electronic sliding gate. I have enough room in the garden to take the gate.

Ah yes I do remember you mentioning that previously :)

Gate is finally in its place. Yay, it may stop many of the local cats exploring the garden. We have had more than ever since the drive way had been done. We used to get one cat before that climbs up around the back of the garage.

Gate even matched the shed. Camouflaged, lol. It actually looks really short in this picture. Its around 5ft. The reasons its not 6ft is we wanted to go for the same height as the wall.

Offering it up to its place. As not wanting the gate to sit proud of the posts, had to recess the hinges.

Marked out the rectangle of the hinge, used my favourite router tool to recess 13mm. Then chisel out the corners.

Fits perfect.

Now have a fully working gate :)

I'll pop some bolts on it too, as the latch alone it will rattle a little in the wind, the bolts give a litte more security and will stop the rattle.

There is wood left, I may make another gate for the side of the house. That will be a bit later though, need to do things on the car. Due for an oil change i think, its not done 3000miles, but I rather change it too soon than too late.

Your talents are waisted sitting behind a desk...

Wow looks great :)

Thanks for the compliments.

Its nice to work on it, but wouldn't want to do it for a living. Relaxing, doing it in your own time, making it as perfect as you want. Nice to see the results as you progress.

Lots of wood left. I'll make another gate, may need to get more 3x2. Also wanted to put a parcel box on the side of the shed. So if we are not in, the parcel chap can stick it in a box through access of lifting a wooden flap, at the moment they put parcels in the bins. Most of the time we get things delivered to work. The box would be as secure as a wheelie bin.

Drive can hold 26tonnes.
