put a new [to me] radio in the p100 started up the ranchero. had to charge the battery first asit was so flat even the interior light would not work then removed one of the seat belts so i am going to fit some better ones

Don't see many P100 anymore

Pumped up the tyres on the camaro, that should last another couple of weeks. Really need to get them taken off and reseated. Actually i really should get on and do that last few bits to the engine and get it started. I must get my finger out and stop playing with computers.

You might want to check the date code on the tyres, they may need replacing rather than reseating.

Using the silver sockets on your impact wrench so you can see them?

Lol fekking tight nuts with a breaker bar. In my impack sockets I don't have a full set need to buy a better set set no 16mm or 18mm used to be 17 and 19mm we used to use alot.

Track rod end turned ip today and I brought 26mm and 18mm impact sockets today and put in white marker the size as well easier to see

You seem to have an endless stream of new bits arriving.

Yes it's turned into a massive job and with delay in parts is a PITA. Will take a colective pic of all parts once done

I took the GP to my local garage re the ABS light yesterday. Their reader actually found the car model for what it is! But it wouldn't show the ABS system 😞.
The mechanic had a good search through other models to no avail. He said a Snap-On reader might show it being American. He said my other option is to send the ABS module to a specialist for testing and repair. Failing that, he also said completely removing the ABS could be an option provided I removed absolutely everything. Then it would just be MOT'd as a non ABS car. He said with it being a rare American car in the UK, UK MOT stations won't have any data on whether it was meant to have ABS or not.

Buy your own code obd2 scanner always useful. Wat age is your car? Have you checked the main Abs plug?? It should show a generic code a more in depth scanner would pin point it more deeply there is a couple of obd2 scanners in Wales lol. Taking it is obd2?? If your car is obd1 then a generic obd2 scan tool won't read obd1

It's unlikely regular obd scanners will do it. I have scanning software on the PC, I can do pretty much anything in the ECU. All I can get from the ABS is system okay or not okay signal. I can't get any other info from the ABS system. Even when it was on the car, it's in the shed now.

It's a 2002, so could it be OBD1?. I'm not 100% sure to be honest. There is only the one connection under the dash from what I can see. I've got two OBD2 readers, an older one and one I bought a few weeks ago to read my Honda CRV diesel. They can both talk to the engine OBD of the Grand Prix but not the ABS or other body electronics.

Yeah, it seems that way. It obviously needs something quite specialist to read the ABS. I've looked online and they do it in the States on my car. I may look into sending the module away for diagnosis. I would rather repair the ABS than remove it given the choice.
