Known as a pansoft rod!
Never heard of a Pansoft rod!? Or was that a pun?
I used to service crew for a few club rally teams that ran MK1 & 2 BDA powered Escorts. When building the car's, Panhard rods were added to their rear axles to improve lateral rigidity. As in this.....

A Panhard rod is a suspension link that provides lateral location of the axle. Originally invented by the Panhard automobile company of France in the early twentieth century, this device has been widely used ever since. Wikipedia

Found some rust on the p100 tailgate
Looks like some of the rust has gone leaving a hole too. What will be your plans? Find another tailgate or patch it up, or leave as is?

Maybe not too complex a shape to fabricate another piece once the rot has been cut out?
Are panels available for your P100?
Years ago I used a place in Hilsea called Portsmouth Car Panels, but pretty sure they are gone now.

The guys that done the T/A respray fabricate metal panels, they are in Romsey.

Just some chicken wire and some white paint now then

Shreddies are good too, the lattice effect gives extra strength.

Took the car for a little drive to check idle tuning and other corrections, all went well. Wanted to check i hadn't effected anything on the cold start. All ready to use it on Friday now.
