Running

And I did 5k non stop but then carried on to do 7.2k - bloomin blisters now though - grrr!
Just been out and bought a foot spa for us both - yumm it's nice ;) ;)

Wow 12K run, thats a long long way. Wasn't long ago you were doing 5k, now you just whizz past that. Do you feel like you have loads of energy left one you pass the 5K mark now?

Had to laugh - obviously I finished before Dave so sat waiting for him and an old chap turned up to feed the birds with bread but he threw a quarter of an uncut loaf and walked off. A couple of dogs ran up and scared all the birds away leaving this poor lump of bread on the path right in front of me. Anyway I felt sorry for the loaf and decided to pick it up and feed the birds with smaller bits myself ha ha. Anyway the pigeons and ducks are obviously used to people and are fairly tame so I started jfeeding them, by hand!!!!

Anyway one little pigeon was a greedy guts and decided he wanted first dibs at the bread so .........

........ bloomin thing jumped up and perched on my knee and began hand feeding it lolol. Managed to get a bit of a stroke too ha ha ha

Funny as I have slight phobia of pigeons as I used to have a recurring dream when I was a kid that whilst walking through pigeons on the ground they would jump up and peck my eyes out so personally this was an experience and a half!!!!

I think its safe to say you are over your phobia of pigeons. lol.

Maybe - I was very nervous to start with but after 5 mins of him sat there I didn't feel too bad :)

Don't know I would say loads of energy left, but 5km is easy. Just depends how fast I want to go which of course depends on how much beyond 5km I want to run.

We both went out this morning, now as I still have a bad back, there was no way I was going to be able to run, so I thought I would ride my mountain bike alongside Dave whilst he ran and ran and ran and ran ..............

Anyway by the time we got back home - we had done just over 10 miles :)

Blimey that a long long way. You are up to half marathon distances. Have you found another charity event to run for?

We both are doing a local 5 miler next month. I just hope I can get training again soon so that I have some chance of doing it lol. Obviously Dave won't have an issue with it ;)

Still a bit tired after yesterday's run. No running tonight - rest is as important as training! But I will go and lift some weights instead.

Not quite half marathon distances - another 3 miles and i'm there!
The Swindon Half marathon is back on for the same day/date in October, just for another charity. I'm now confident its doable - but questioning whether I want to do it.

It's not fair - I wanna run!!

Have you ever watched 'finding memo'? There is a fish in it called Dorrie she often says 'just keep swimming, just keep swimming'. I think if I was running that would be in my mind saying 'just keep runnin, just keep runnin' although I would be out of puff before I got to the end of the road.

Its strangely compelling. The time i run for increases, the distance increases, my fitness and stamina improve - and I just want to do more!
Having said that, 13 miles puts me just under the two hours. A good time for an amateur 1/2 marathon but I don't really want to push beyond that right now.
A marathon goal is possible, but I'm really not thinking that far ahead about running right now. The half marathon? I'm gonna do it - I'll sign up at the end of the month!!

Was trying for 1/2 marathon distance this morning, but I didn't quite have enough left to push for the distance. 11.8 miles today.

Did a 5 miler this morning - my first run in three weeks because of my back. Felt good even after the really steep hill that I didn't think I would make although not sure I would've if Dave hadn't of been with me :) (thank you x).

Two blisters and a little twinge in the back but I plan on going again tomorrow morning and go further without having to walk in places ;)

Well done for carrying on. :thumbup1:

Out again this morning for a five miler. Wasn't sure I was going to manage it because when I started off I still ached badly from yesterday and the bluster in both arches of my feet were really sore However I managed to get around with only one walk this time and that was just at the top of the steep hill. The 6k mark. Next time I do it - my goal is to do it non-stop!

Both doing an organised 5 miler charity run tomorrow - yikes. Judging by previous comments the first 4 miles are flat with slight declines until the 4 mile mark - its then a serious incline for a mile.

Think of us at 11 am and encourage us on for that last mile ;)

Looking at previous times - the quickest runners do it in about 25 minutes (!!). The slowest is around 1.10 (that'll be nearer my mark - lol)
