should,t of told Dan about vent pipe for the NOS we could of had some fun well he and co pilot would of.lol,, but fit Nos even 50-100 of spray got to be worth it just for the kudos..
Didn't get much time last night, did mask off the other rocker cover though. The engine and intake are in the kitchen.
I'm out this evening till about 8pm, and out tomorrow evening. Although tomorrow evening I will be going to the place where the NOS kit will start to be fitted to the intake, will get the holes drilled and tapped with the correct tools.
cool Nos. might as well change clutch as it's all out ready, be worth it all in the end, so with a 100 shot of spray what will the bring the car up to?
I tried a puck style clutch, and hated it. Far too aggressive for my taste, turned the clutch into an off/on switch!
But I guess at those horsepower levels there isn't much else?
In f-body terms stage 1 offer marginally better holding than stock, and is still traditional friction material in the full circumference. No idea how that translates in the Mustang world.
I also tried a clutch that had dissimilar materials between flywheel and plate side whilst still being full circumference, hated that too!
I went stage 1 after experimenting with both the puck style and the dissimilar materials clutch's and I was happy after that, although the next owner thought it was still too aggressive!
Yeah, it was ok if I drove it aggressively, but you don't always want that.
Its a tad embarrassing to have to rev it to 3000rpm to drop the clutch, spin the wheels and get the attention of the local plod just trying to pull away from a traffic light.
Trying to drive it smoothly was impossible. But each to their own.....
My last clutch was a similar clutch, yeah it was on/off, but there was a blend point. Sarah tried driving it, but couldn't. I guess after years of driving it, you do get used to it. Pulling away at 800rpm, knowing where the 2mm of blend point was.
Question...
I have the intake manifold off ready to prep for paint. It's looking a bit old and tired.
Standard 75mm throttle body on a FAST intake. It's over 10years old, FAST have brought out some bigger ones 102mm with matching throttle bodies. Now, do I just got new like the rest of the bits. Larger intake will compliment the longer stroke.
More photos of why I'm thinking of going new. This is my current intake.
Painted blue some time ago, its natural colour was grey. Some of the seals are looking a bit tired. It needs quite a bit of work to tart it up. Its only a standard size intake. It did offer power gains over stock, but as I have more cubic inches. Should I benefit from this with going for new?

Silly question as your increasing the stroke and thinking about adding larger air intake your also need bigger injectors and also larger fuel pipes and pump to handle the additional load/demand ??
