Considering that Duster come from the East the hand brake assembly looks soo much like GM drums, probably Ford to. I guess once a system is made and it works then it's applied across manufacturers
Electronic hand brakes need rethinking. Some things don't need to change, the cable system works fine. Why rely on battery power to secure your car on a hill? Wills next door neighbours Tesla battery ran out on the drive. 2ft short of reaching the charger. Cannot be pushed as you cannot release the electric hand brake. They had to call the AA. How duff is that?

Drum brakes basic set dad can't believe manufactories car makers still use drum brakes but they do.
Well started on my audi front discs yesterday got new disc even new pads as well looks like the single piston in caliper might have an issue further investigation as one side looks good other side very bad

The strut brace has been at the back of the shed then garage for many years. I took it off as was looking tatty with rust at the end.
Yesterday I got the sander on it, cleaned it up and painted it, hung it on the washing line to dry.
Today popped it on the car. Not a huge effort to get it on, just 4 bolts. Need to jack the car up to get a spanner in the wheel arch to hold the other end. Thought I'd take a photo to share.

Nice 15min job lol.🤣. Wheels were stuck on hub yes I had taken wheels nuts off b4 you say it lol.🤣 OSR easy NSR rear was a pain to push piston of caliper back. The 8mm Allen head bolts that hold brake caliper housing were fun to get and undo bending the Allen key so tight and bleed nipple thankfully didn't snap as very tight little bit of heat. Penertrating oil and a pass through 11m socket ( could of used long reach 11m socket) to get nipple undune. All back together now

Hope you are getting paid good money for working on that. Seems to have many things that take a long time to fix. I would have said, time for the owner to get a new one, but now you have done so much on it, it's almost all new.

the owner would like his el Camino back lol,,,,,, still not sure what to get to replace my Audi so keep it on the road until something comes along

Finally got the non period LED headlights off the Plymouth and replaced with Halogens and wired in the associated relay / fuse loom kit.

More parts turned up the other day new coil packs and 02 sensors for mustang and new u bolt for trans am

Can't replicate the noise now, real test will be driving to club night tomorrow.

Always good to have a full set of nuts.

When driving in the field at Dene rally could hear squeaking from the rear.
I could lay down by the side of the car and move the car up and down pushing on the wheel arch while holding the control arm, and felt vibration through it.
Wanted to take them off to give it a good clean and grease it up.

The end was rushed soaked it in oil, freed it up. Greased it, and then covered it as protection.

I'll squirt some thicker grease on there. Always wondered how long that joint works uld last without toying with it, ball joins usually have a rubber hood. Odd why this is designed like this.

Greese nipple squirts it out the sides, this lives it from the body mounts.

All done, test drive tomorrow perhaps.
