Took it for a drive on Saturday to Rowlands castle. It made it home, think its heads off time now. Quite looking forward to it, done it a couple of times now.
Yep, bigger bumps. I like the sound of the old dodge chargers, so would like to get as close as possible to that. obviously I'm less CC, but my car sounds lumpier than a standard LS1, and would like to go a bit further with it. Cam is 226-226/112. Stock was around 195 or 200. So could probably get away with 238 or 240. Will be a big valve overlap, but I'm not out for efficiency.
The other day I put two dehumidifier in the fiero. When the dot goes pink you put in microwave for a few mins and then put back in the car - so far so good.
the front's i replaced before moving to wales and they had the allen key slot in to help with replacing so think they had been replaced before . the rear had nut both sides to help with removal so think these were the subaru factory ones from new not bad going for a130k on the clock just wouldn't budge on undoing so cut them off new ones went on easy got them from e.bay good price for pair but waiting on euro car parts for rear d bushes good price but out of stock and dhl tracking says today for delivery been waiting a week from euro's.
also did the front brakes the other weekend as sized brake caliper and corsed pads to wear uneven got caliper piston out and found this cleaned up and replaced as claiper repair kit 87 quid but dose all 4 pistons on front or new calipers 130 each
Admired the nice ice formations on the roof today.
Last night I investigated the extra loud ticking noise from the top end of the engine. It sounded like a bent/short push rod. The reason I wanted to sort this is I wouldn't feel comfortable driving it to Will's work shop to work on it. Found it was the 3rd lifter back from drivers side front. The push rod is straight, but it was slack, rocker was good. So must be a collapsed lifter or something missing from the cam. So whipped out them two push rods, disconnected coil pack and injector, runs sweet on 7. So I'm happy to drive it that 1.2miles to start working on it at the weekend.
