What have you done to your vehicle today?

Was this the same cylinder that had the broken rocker?
No, it was the other side that has a broken rocker, however it is the same one that had a loose push rod before. It's like the push rod pumps up or sometimes becomes very short. Certainly something suspect in there. Hope I have all the parts needed to correct it.

I think moving to a cam with a stock base circle and therefore using stock length push rods is advisable. It removes a lot of potential problems for you. Still need to bear in mind that those patriot heads have a lower (probably) deck height, but the lifters should correct that within their range.
If you get a re-occurance of the issue I think I would be considering a switch to solid lifters and a manually adjusted rocker setup. The old poly locks come to mind.

Drove it to work, and parked it outside Will's place of work ready for working on it at the weekend. Reason I brought it in today it get a parking space outside his unit so someone else doesn't leave their car there for the weekend.

Soaking the lifters in oil ready for the dismantling on Saturday.

The lifters have a small oil way in one of the sides, should this be facing up or down?
Took radiator out and pushed the car into the workshop.

Started spring cleaning. Wheels off to remove the old wheel weight adhesive where I had the new tyres fitted. Cleaned all up inside the wheel arches and gave the bodywork a wash too! Got rained off so no pictures but looking like my car again.

I washed the hybrid - yuck!
Oh and started the Fiero and got her warm ;)

Took some bits off the engine.

Nothing - although I thought about it.
I'm making use of a 4 poster ramp at my mates place of work on Saturday morning. Got an oil change to do, the clutch mod to do and might take a look at replacing the rear brake pads if time allows.
I must be getting old - there was a time when I would do this sort of thing at home!!

Nothing either :(

And my mate has had to cancel tomorrow so will concentrate on getting the Kia ready for sale instead. Seems a shame and I much prefer driving a 12 plate Kia to a 66 plate Auris but it's pointless hanging on to it.
