And the Challenger fired up, albeit immediately after disconnecting the smart charger.
Signs are positive, the smart charger was happy.
I’ll leave it disconnected now and test again at the weekend. Perhaps I could even put a few miles on it?
Been a bit quiet this post so all petrolhead cars must be fighting fit ready to go?
burnt out the lower control arm bushes on subaru and put rear lights back in truck slowing tinkering with truck and removed propshalt from subaru as U/J is going and possible center bearing so it can be repaired
drove to Weymouth in the p100 got a puncher on a roundabout, 2" split in sidewall [best tyre on the thing]. just as i started to change the wheel someone stopped
and kept an eye on the traffic so i didn't get run over. no idea who he is but really appreciated the help
Hows the running? Do you still go out for a run?
I really should run more, a good opportunity is when I walk the dogs in the woods, but soo slippery in there at the moment, plus one dog needs to be on the lead most of the time, so a good chance to lose footing, so perhaps not a good opportunity. I need to shift some kg's.
Still running 3 or 4 times a week. Mix of treadmill and outdoors and mix of distances from 4km through to 16km but averaging 8km per run or 5miles for the older folk.
Also doing 2 gym sessions per week and 2 fitness classes per week but the weight I gained when I was injured won’t shift.

Good to hear you are keeping it going. Health is more important than the car. Hearing how much fitness stuff you do, is inspiring me to get on and do more like that.
Doing something towards the car, but I guess technically not part of the car just yet.
The 2nd hand seat I picked up needs a slight repair, but only on one panel. I have dropped the seat off to Richmond & James which are opposite work, in the same courtyard. They will give a quote on repairing that one panel.
Fired up the Challenger for a while on Saturday morning and fitted a manual fan switch to a friends ‘96 TA.
Otherwise, nothing.
It’s still too cold and wet for me right now.
He’s a little bit slower than some at adopting technology solutions like forums etc but I can try.
His car is stock original except for a very loud SLP loudmouth exhaust.
Paint is in ok condition and is the more rare green colour with tan leather. 350LT1 with A4 euro spec.
He is completely non-mechanically minded so either I help him out or he has to pay through the nose for someone to do things.
He is considering a change of car. He wants a C5 ‘Vette but finding someone local he trusts to work on it is an issue and I can’t take on full time maintenance for him as I don’t have time. He would actually be better suited to a classic but he is fearful of rust!
He’s owned this car for 13/14 years now.
Started to fit the Barton short shifter. I had a B&M ripper shifter and loved it on my ‘97 TA.
The Challenger shifter has very long throws and far to much insulating rubber in the design.
The Barton reduces the throw very significantly and have a much better billet design that does not have the rubber in it.
Should be good. All the console and original shift linkage is out, just need to fit the new linkage and put it all back together now.
Bad news is that one of the key fobs has packed up. Done some investigation and it would appear to be a dealer job. I’ll get a quote and see if they can do it when I have the airbag recall done.
Replaced the key fob with a decent brand instead of the cheaper new one I previously fitted and now it works again! Phew!
Barton install completed!
Still to do:
Rear brake pads
Lower temp thermostat
Air bag recall
