What have you done to your vehicle today?

Looks good worth the effort

I thought the upright and brake caliper looked familiar.
A very worth while upgrade is the upright, Caliper and disk from a 98 on f-body. Significantly better braking and bolts right in.

Shame the driver didnt lol,,

Might try and do some more on the truck done 4 body mount bushes so far they were total shot

Finally finished body mount bushes on truck rears were a pain,

At last weeks MOT, I got an advisory on the LH track rod end.
So I ordered two from Rockauto and today I changed them both.

Then I got busy changing the oil & filter. Not done a huge amounts of miles since the last change but it was 12 months ago. 7 US Quarts of Mobil 1’s finest and a genuine Mopar filter.
And lastly, the serpentine belt was making the odd chirp on a cold start, so it got replaced too.
A busy day. Those race ramps might have been expensive, but what a joy to use. When I dropped a clip and had to put it back on the ramps to retrieve it from where it had lodged it was just a couple of minutes work.
Beats jacking and axle stands every time!

Those ramps look great, certainly cuts down on time. Looks like they are two part, do they pack away quite small so not to use too much space in the garage?

Went to the Cams Mill Mustang meet wehre the Surrey Mustang group attended and then went on to the Crotch coollers at Alton for a nice mix of classic cars to see. All in all, a nice day out.

What have I done to my car today?......Drove it!

Just checked the time, that was yeterday.

Changed the gearbox oil and differential oil. Suspect both have not been done before.

The gearbox in the Challenger is the Tremec TR6060, a successor to the T56 in my old (and Dan's T/A). The 6060 is used in many late model Mustangs as well as the Viper's.
It is also well known to have a difficult 2nd gear. It uses triple cone synchronisers in the lower gears instead of the more usual dual cone used in the upper gears and the T56.
This really slows down the gear change and often can be more than a little crunchy. Its a well known problem.
After much research I decided to use Royal Purple Synchromax. It has the same viscosity as the ATF used in the 6060 but with added 'stuff'. To be honest you can find as many bad reviews as you can good, but at the end of the day you pays your money and makes your choice. Finding a Viper forum where they were raving about the improvements after switching to RP helped me make up my mind, and 3.75 US Quarts later its done.
Did it make any difference? Well....yes!
I noticed it after backing off the ramps that it seemed less notchy to get into first gear. So much so , that Immediately put it back into neutral, lifted the clutch and tried again. Hmmm - definitely better. A short 5mile test drive later and its getting better all the time. 2nd still isn't the best but if the improvement continues I'll be happy.

Also used RP in the diff.
A successful couple of Saturdays maintenance done. Just need to clean it now!

How long before the smell of that diff oil is removed from my airways - god it stinks! Lol

What did I do to mine - test drive her and kept staring at her as to how gooooood she looks - hope to throw a bucket of water over her tomorrow as not washed her since I’ve had the respray done - ooops!!

Behind the time's A/T been using R/P for about 7 years now yes good stuff if you can find it and bit more expensive.
